Description:  First reviewed here.  Level paved sites and roads.  Electricity at all sites (most 30A but some 50A).  No water or sewer at the sites but you can take on fresh water. Decent bath house but showers are quick push buttons.  We were on site 34 with 50A.  This cg has had problems with the sewer system during the past few years and has gone back and forth with the reservation system.  The dump station was closed since July.  On the day we left, the Forest Service closed the park for the next five months to do some serious refurbishing of the whole park.  The dump station will be moved and will have a new sewer system, all sites will have 50A and the bath house will be refurbished too.  When they open again in the Spring, I’m sure it will be under the reservation system.

Activities:  We have been here many times in the past while we still lived in a stix and brix.  It is only a few miles from a public beach access in Emerald Isle NC so it is a popular cg.  It rained the first four days we were here this time.  We joined my brother, SiL, sister and BiL at T&W Oyster Bar on Friday night for a good meal and visit.  Plenty of shopping nearby and a wonderful hiking trail and small boat launch in the park.  We had lunch at El’s Drive-in in Morehead and did a bit of people watching at the beach public access in Emerald Isle.  I enjoying a couple of early morning jogs on the mile and a half long Tideland Trail in the park.  It’s a great place to ride a bike too.

Trash and Recycle:  Dumpster at the dump station and a few trash cans throughout the park.  Recycle cans near site 11 for plastic and aluminum.

  2. Great photos of a familiar place. We're glad they are renovating Cedar Point Camp, it needed those upgrades. That area is wonderful in the fall and glad you got to spend some good times with family.

  3. We are really missing that area this Fall. Hope they are successful in renovating the park, because we look forward to future stays!

  4. We used to love to go there for the rustic appeal and then they went to the reservation system and we weren't able to get ourselves in. Doubt that will improve when they reopen. I miss it, like Hunting Island which priced us out. Thanks for the pictures. Looks like you had a great time. Where are you off to next??
