Description: There are two campgrounds in this park. River Run CG is better suited for smaller rigs and Cokelely CG , where we stayed (site 25), is newer and big-rig friendly. It is much closer to Harrisville, and in order to avoid hair-pin turns, enter the park from that town instead of Cairo. Cokeley has paved roads and parking pads with water and 50A hook-up. Laundry in the bathhouse. There is a very nice dump station near the exit. No trees but beautiful rolling hills. Nice Rails to Trails bike path adjoins River Run although it is gravel instead of paved. Lots of hiking paths around the older River Run CG and a boat ramp near Cokeley CG onto a small mountain lake.
Activities: We came here with our friends Tricia and Dan to relax and enjoy the Rails to Trails bike path. There are several tunnels on the path since this is in the mountains. One is even said to be haunted by a ghost. We peddled about 14 miles on gravel so we deserved an ice cream break in the little town of Cairo. On one of my morning walks I counted 21 deer in different herds.
Trash and Recycle: Dumpster at the bathhouse but no recycle.
