Description:  Gravel and sand roads.  Many long-term sites under the trees but over-nighters in the front near the office are pull-thru FHU sites.  Self check-in so no credit cards taken.  We stayed in site 326.  A little ways off of I-95 but near Savannah, GA.  On our way to Lazy Days in Tampa for some warranty work.

Activities:  We just used it as a stopover but lots to do in Savannah and Hilton Head.

Trash and Recycle:  No recycling.  Trash can at the office and dumpster in the wooded area for the long-term patrons.

Cedar Point Campground (Croatan National Forest), Cedar Point, NC

Description:  Paved roads and sites.  Large level sites with pine trees dispersed in the park.  All sites have fire rings and two lamp posts.  All have electric with some being 30A and others 50A.  No water or sewer at the site but you can take on fresh water at the convenient dump station.  We have camped here many times in the past and stayed on site 36 next to our friends Bill and Nancy.  Now takes reservations and is full every weekend since it is close to the beach.  About 4 miles from Emerald Isle, NC with public beach parking (free on week days).  To stretch our water tanks, I used the showers in the bathhouse.  It’s dated but clean with a nice separate dressing area.  They do have the timed push nozzle however.

Activities:  Nice walking trail that you can also ride your bike on with bridges over the salt marsh.  Canoe launch onto the White Oak River right at park.  Salty river here since you are near the beach but another boat ramp (Haywood's Landing) up river about 10 miles that is a totally different environment.  Plenty of shopping nearby and an all natural barrier island (Bear Island) at Hammocks Beach State Park.

Trash and Recycle:  Dumpsters at the dump station and a few trash cans throughout the park.  Trash cans near the bathhouse for recyclables (cans and plastic bottles).
